What is photography? Can the question be explored using literary means? When the photographic image is reflected in the literary afterimage, can one speak of reflection? In this anthology, compiled from the master’s degree in Cultural Publishing at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and Fotomuseum Winterthur, sixty authors respond to one or more images from the museum’s collection, adopting sixty different professional and cultural positions in a belletristic, autobiographical, lyrical, and experimental text.
With texts by Lukas Bärfuss, Shahnaz Bashir, Mansoura El-Ezedin, Martin Frank, Peter Geimer, Melinda Nadji Abonji, Kathrin Passig, Noëlle Revaz, Ruth Schweikert, Michelle Steinbeck, Julia Weber, Ruedi Widmer, Nadine Wietlisbach and others.
With photographies by Hans Danuser, Dunja Evers, Joakim Eskildsen, Luigi Ghirri, Jitka Hanzlová, Roni Horn, Zoe Leonard, Annelies Strba, and others.
